Prognosis

Prognosis

The prognosis for outgrowing tree nut and/or peanut allergies is less favourable than for other food allergies.

Only 20 percent of children with a peanut allergy and less than 10 percent of children with a tree nut allergy "outgrow" their allergy over the years. Most retain their allergies for life.

However, most children with food allergy to milk, egg, soy or wheat tend to overcome their allergy during their lifetime.
